By working to transform education models through technology and research,ÌýVanderbilt will build on its international reputation. Work in this area will include cutting-edge research toÌýassess effectiveness of new education technologies, which, in turn, will allow us to identify, pilot and implement best practices. We must embrace those new education technologies that foster innovation inÌýlearning, teaching and discovery.

The charge of the educational technology planning committee is to make operational and strategic decisions in support of the to resource and implement the recommendations of the Vanderbilt Institute for Digital Learning (VIDL) Advisory Board, (CFT) working groups, and faculty advisory groups to advance educational technology and digital learning at Vanderbilt.
In December 2017, the committee released a white paper entitled Definition and Statement on Digital Literacy.
